Whoa
Looking at my last post I got to thinking; How am I gonna follow that up? With what can a simple blogger and wannabe writer do to follow up a political post like that and not look like a loser with no credentials. I mean I was talking Bush, Chavez, Latin America, poverty, economies, infrastructure, past, future. You name it; it was probably in there. I’m not really sure I can, or want to at this moment. But it is something I felt strongly about and will defend to anyone. I do have a comment on race I want to post sometime but I am waiting for the right inspiration. That’s some pretty heavy material in itself.
I have been doing some self-promoting by going back to my old gaming clans and posting links. Thanks to all my gaming friends who have come by and offered words of encouragement. Sincerely your opinions mean a lot to me. It’s amazing the kind of people you inadvertently surround yourself with while trying to play at a high level. I’m talking doctors, lawyers, engineers, some really intelligent people who are some of the best in their fields. They make really great friends as well.
I just want to give a shout out to TL_ now known as Lobster Magnet http://spank.10.forumer.com/index.php?sid=bcb14974ed4d0a792d59d3357a7de9f2Â We used to play a BF1942 mod called DC. Talk about some good times. Definitely gave some serious competition to some nationally ranked teams. Since moving on to WoW they have become nationally widespread. Not bad for a group of lan goers based in Tulsa.
Here’s another shout out to LORD. http://www.teamlord.net/ I missed the glory days but we still had a good time playing BF Vietnam and then P.o.E. . If you had to play LORD you knew you were in for a battle. What a great group of guys. Unfortunately the core of the clan has slowly gone on to different things ,with Elvis and now Zeus trying to keep it together (whether he knows it or not) but LORD will always be a bright spot for me. Oh Btw. Paige : You suck!
And my last shoutout is for cc//.

An international clan that is in the big leagues. Unfortunately I did not get to play with you guys for that long, seeing as how our game DIED on us. P.o.E. 2 was a blast while it lasted but BF2142 killed it before it’s day. I did get to play with some great players and make a few friends so it was worth it. Seeing the international scope of cc// and the gaming community involved was really an eye opener. You definitely get a broader view of the world and what people in it think when you get to talk to them from all over. Nice job Dox.
And now I have moved on to this. I had my days of rpg addiction and I must admit a fps one as well. Now I am going to try to ride this wave as far as I can. Maybe it will turn into something and maybe it wont. Hopefully I will never have to hear my wife say again “You spend all your time on there but your not doing anything constructive.” Hobby widow is what they call it I think.

Ahh gaming. I’ve been with =LORD= since the DC days… where we held 3 “crowns” and scared all comers. And through our shifts. I still say we’ve got a great group of guys, and some damn good gamers. We are just lacking in a single game we all like. There is a number of us that play 2142 often. Even I do when I get a chance (just not the last couple weeks).
You’re supposed to wear your addictions on your sleeve… My sleeves aren’t long enough between gaming, blogging, graphic design, playing with computers, reading, sex, drinking wine, drinking beer, and enjoying life as much as possible.
BTW – As soon as I thought I’d started get a little free time, I added two more blogs to write occasionally on. The family blog (http://www.thehavens.net) and a wine tasting blog I call A little bit of vino (http://www.whino.info).
I made a mistake moving all my blogs to GoDaddy… Because of their sales I ended up registering a bunch of names, including ones for the blogs. (I’ve had thehavens.net but I got havensblog.info and decidied instead of directing thehavens.net to my main blog I’d point it to a family blog)
Sounds like a damn fine plan Patrick.
And a big shout back from one of the TL guys it was awesome back in the day. Maybe one day a good game will bring us all back together like it used to be.
What a pleasant surprise (took me long enough to find it though, sorry!) – thanks for remembering, I hope all is well, stop on by and say hello anytime, lots of changes/excitement at Crack Clan since your post!
